Man spat at ex’s friend

A RETFORD man who spat at his ex-girlfriend’s friend has been ordered to do unpaid work.

Jake Henderson, 21, of Peel Avenue was found guilty of common assault after a trial. He admitted a second charge of using threatening words or behaviour.

The court heard Henderson went to an event at Retford Rugby Club on 3rd June to confront the man he thought was his former partner’s new boyfriend.

He was aggressive towards the man, and a police officer tried to calm him down. He then approached his former partner and her friend stepped between them. Henderson spat in her face.

He was ordered to complete 100 hour unpaid work and pay £100 compensation to his victim along with £150 towards court costs.
