Man sent to crown court

A 30-YEAR-OLD has appeared in court charged with assaulting a man in a Retford pub.

Robert Gosney, of Chauntry Road, Alford, appeared at Worksop Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Gosney is charged with three offences all dating to 30th May this year.

The first is assault occasioning actual bodily harm at the Vine Public House in Retford.

He is also charged with using racially aggravated words or behaviour towards PC Steven Carr and assaulting PC Carr in the execution of his duty.

Gosney is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 14th December.
