An Ollerton man who failed to co-operate with psychiatrists ahead of being sentenced for theft has been jailed for 26 weeks.

Gary Robert Alan Gillon (25), of Brake View, faced sentencing for theft and receiving stolen goods, and was ordered to attend meetings for a report to be prepared. Mitigating, Chris Perry said: “He is trying to change. His dog was ill and needed a £500 operation. What stopped him from going out to rob was the fear of going to prison.”

District judge Diana Baker said: “I wanted to give you a chance to get to the bottom of your personality disorder, and the high risk psychiatristsconsidered you to be to people and property.” He must also pay an £80 surcharge.
