Man has jaw fractured during robbery

A MAN suffered a fractured jaw following a robbery in Retford.

The 33-year-old man was discovered shoeless and disorientated by a member of the public in Albert Road at 3.15am on Saturday 27th August.

As well as his shoes, the man’s keys, wallet and mobile were missing.

The robbery is believed to have taken place between 2am and 3.15am after the victim left the Litten Tree pub, in Chapelgate.

His phone was later recovered from the Wharf Road area, where police believe the attack took place.

The man, who suffered substantial head and facial injuries, was taken to Bassetlaw Hospital. He has since been transferred to Rotherham Hospital for surgery to a fractured jaw.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage and conducting enquiries in the area and are appealing for witnesses.
