Man has his order lifted for work

A LANGOLD man has had his community order revoked after making progress and finding work around the country.

Daniel Griffiths, 22, from Church Street in Langold, had been sentenced for handling stolen cable belonging to Network Rail.

He appeared before Worksop Magistrates Court in order to lift his community order which had become ‘unworkable’ after finding employment in a job which saw him working as far afield as Bristol and Inverness. While this was granted, he was fined £400 and ordered to pay a £15 victim’s surcharge.

Magistrates told him: “This was a very serious crime which is very prevalent at the moment.”
