Man dies after being hit by train between Mansfield and Nottingham
A man has died after he was hit by a train on the tracks between Mansfield and Nottingham.
The British Transport Police were called to the line close to Bayles and Wylies footbridge, Bestwood Village, Nottingham, after reports a man had been struck by a train around 5pm on Wednesday, April 13.
A force spokesman said paramedics also attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
He said: “The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The train line was closed until shortly after 7pm.
