Man dies after A60 crash

A NOTORIOUS accident blackspot, the A60 Cuckney Hill between Church Warsop and Cuckney, was closed to traffic on Wednesday evening after a serious accident left one motorist dead and two in hospital.

The road was shut early evening by the incident and residents reported seeing a helicopter circling the scene.

It has been closed between the A616 Creswell Road junction at Cuckney and the B6031 Bishops Walk junction at Church Warsop.

Police say that two vehicles, a Ford Fiesta and a Citroen C2, collided at Cuckney Hill, Church Warsop, around 7.45pm.

A spokesman said: “The driver of the Citroen was taken to King’s Mill Hospital, where he subsequently died.

“A man driving the Ford Fiesta sustained serious injuries and has been taken to Sheffield Hallam Hospital for treatment.

“Another man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, is currently at King’s Mill Hospital in a stable condition.”
