Man admits puppy theft

A WORKSOP man stole a puppy and laptop from his former girlfriend after they split up.

Shaun David William Bayliss, 22, of Portland Street, admitted burglary at Worksop Magistrates Court,

The court heard Bayliss went round to his former girlfriend’s home on 20th June to get back some of his things.

On finding no one home, and the back door unlocked, he went in and took the puppy and laptop.

The puppy was later found in a secure garden five miles away and was returned.

Harry Bevan, defending, said it was a ‘silly act of childish revenge’ following the end of a ‘difficult relationship’.

The case was adjourned for probation service reports until 9th August.
