Maltby: Pedestrian in critical condition after being hit by van

A pedestrian suffered life threatening injuries after being hit by a van in Maltby.

The 22-year-old was airlifted to hospital following the accident at the junction of Grange Lane and Devonshire Road.

The driver of the red DAF box van, a 37-year-old Doncaster man, and the pedestrian were heading towards Braithwell when the collision happened around 8.15am on Wednesday.

The man, who lives in the area, was taken to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital, where his injuries are described as critical.
