Maltby man charged after cop assaulted

Darryl Kent, 27, of Adelaide Street, appeared with Michael Dolan, 49, and Lewis Kent, 23, at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court on 14th November.

Dolan, of Rotherham, was charged with section 18 assault and possession of a firearm and has been remanded in custody until appearing at Sheffield Crown Court.

Darryl Kent and Lewis Kent, of Rotherham, were charged with affray and released on bail. They were due to appear at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court as the Guardian went to press.

The police officer was assaulted after trying to split up a fight at the Mail Coach Public House, on Wellgate, Rotherham earlier this month.
