Macmillan Girls Night In themed party

Girls gathered in Gateford for good times and giggles for a special night in to raise money in aid of Macmillan Cancer charity.

Dawn Jackson organised the get together with friends and family for the event which raised more than £300 for the charity.

Guests tucked into delicious cakes baked by Julie Gray and partied the night away on Saturday 27th April.

Her sister Mandy O’Brien said Dawn organised the night in memory of their father Frank Fox who lost his battle with cancer in October 2011.

Said Mandy: “We all had a brilliant night and we would like to thank everybody who came and who contributed us - we are very grateful for their support.”

“We also also like to thank Palm’s Fitness, Rush Hair Salon, Wilkinson’s, Tesco’s and Machin’s Hardware for donating generous raffle prizes.”

She added: “Macmillan Cancer is a charity very close to our hearts.

“The nurses used to come in and look after dad athome and it made a massive difference to us at a very difficult time.”
