From Friday 17th to Sunday 19th August, Clumber Park in Worksop will host three top concerts.
Rockin’ in the Park will see Brit Floyd, Focus, Curved Air, The Strawbs and more take Clumber by storm, while the Flashback Festival will take musiclovers back in time to the glorious 1980s with sets from OMD, Marc Almond, ABC, Belinda Carlisle, Go West and The Christians.
Finishing off the proceedings will classical music star Alfie Boe with his orchestra, supported by Laura Wright.
Alfie is the youngest of nine children and was born in Fleetwood near Blackpool.
At 17 Alfie was working in the TVR factory in Bispham and would entertain his colleagues by singing opera arias whilst they worked.
A customer that had connections in the music industry overheard Alfie and was so impressed that he suggested that Alfie should go to London where the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company were auditioning for a tour. Alfie went along and got the job.
He hasn’t looked back since and has obtained extensive musical and operatic training along the way.
Alfie studied at The Royal College of Music and then The Royal Opera House before taking the lead in numerous Operas for English National Opera.
He also performed for Welsh National, Scottish National and The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
More recently he wowed audiences across the world with his performance of Jean Valjean at the Les Miserables 25th Anniversary.
In the last 12 months he has had two Top 10 platinum albums with Bring Him Home and Alfie. It’s also been announced that he will perform at Buckingham Palace for the Queens Diamond Jubilee. His performance in Clumber Park is going to be a must see show for all Alfie Boe and music fans.
Alfie Boe will play Clumber Park on Sunday 19th August.
