Local men in court on drug and theft charges

DRUGS and burglary charges face two men suspected of committing a number of crimes in Gainsborough.

Aiden Marc Mcghie, 18, currently in Lincoln Prison, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates Court on Monday 19th September via video link when he admitted being in possession of cannabis when arrested on Friday 22nd July this year.

Mcghie is also accused of attempting to burgle a barn at the rear of Ellers Farm in East Stockwith, near Gainsborough on Wednesday 25th May of this year, but has entered no plea yet.

He also stands accused alongside John Grange-Smith, 24, of Dickenson Terrace, Gainsborough, of burgling a property on Frampton Terrace in Gainsborough on Monday 25th July, when they are alleged to have stolen a mobile phone and games console worth £250.

Both Mcghie and Grange-Smith also face charges of being in possession of criminal property in the form of cash when arrested on Tuesday 2nd August.

The pair have not entered pleas for these charges.

Grange-Smith is also charged with having cannabis in his possession on Thursday 4th August but is yet to enter a plea.

Mcghie remains in custody while Grange-Smith is out on conditional bail until Monday 26th September when they must both appear back at Lincoln Magistrates Court.
