Lincs: Hospice worker is putting on her running shoes to raise money for St Barnabas Lincolshire Hospice in the Great North Run

Community events fundraiser, Caroline Swindin, will be attempting to run the half marathon on Sunday 7th September.

And because it has been a long time since Caroline has run any great distance, to train she has been out running a minimum of four times a week.

St Barnabas provides specialist care to those aged 18 years and over across Lincolnshire living with a range of life limiting illnesses and also end of life care.

Care and support is also provided to loved ones of the patient both during their illness and following a loss.

In 2014 St Barnabas cared for more than 6,000 patients and their families.

All services are free, to deliver such care and support this year St Barnabas need to raise £3.8m.

Caroline said: “I am doing this to raise awareness and funds for our wonderful hospice which I am extremely passionate about.”
