Lincs: Help to improve domestic abuse services

The survivors’ survey has been running on the Lincolnshire Domestic Abuse website for the past two years, and it has allowed service users to give feedback on the help they received and the support available to victims.

Karen Shooter, County Domestic Abuse Manager for Lincolnshire County Council, said: “Thanks to people that have completed the survey we have already been able to make improvements to domestic abuse services in Lincolnshire.”

“We now give more training to professionals, GP’s and schools to raise awareness of domestic abuse and help people identify it from an early stage.”

“We also now support the ‘Moving Forward’ group in Lincoln which helps victims recover from their traumas.”

“It is very important that we continually evaluate our services so we can find new ways to support victims and tailor our services to meet their needs.”

“I would encourage all survivors of domestic abuse to fill in our anonymous online survey which will help us make sure we are doing all we can to support victims.”

There are many different types of abusive behaviour and it should be recognised that abuse is an ongoing pattern of behaviour, which will escalate over a period of time.

Domestic abuse can also affect anyone.
