Lincs County Council to help businesses develop in China

The authority has announced its new partnership with the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC). Through over 60 years of engagement, they have built up exceptional connections with government and business across China. The organisation, working closely with UK Trade and Investment and the British Chamber in China, is dedicated to helping UK companies of all sizes and sectors, whether new entrants or established operations, to understand the opportunities that exist in China and be ready to build successful business activities in one of the fastest growing market in the world.

Coun Colin Davie, Executive Member for Economic Development, said: “China has become one of the largest and most important export markets in the world.

“Many county firms already have strong ties there, and we want to build on that foundation.

“We know many of our exporting businesses would like to do more, but need support to take things forward.

“And we’d also like to see some of the firms that are not currently exporting start to explore these markets.

“The China-Britain Business Council is ideally placed to help us find those new opportunities for county businesses, and I’m delighted we’ve established this important relationship with them.

“I look forward to welcoming them back to the county.”

As a result of this new partnership, the council will again be welcoming delegates from Hunan province later this year. In September 2015, the council signed a declaration of friendship and economic co-operation with the booming region.
