Lincs: Child rapist is jailed for seven years

The attacker, who can not be named to protect the identity of his victim, must also serve an extra three years on licence when he is eventually released from prison.

Passing the extended sentence Judge Michael Heath told the 23-year-old man he regarded him as “dangerous.”

It means the offender, who was living in mid-Lincolnshire at the time of the attack, will not be released from custody until it is directed by a parole board.

Judge Heath said: “I note with great concern that you told a psychologist that you had thoughts of raping your brother on a previous occasion but that you blocked them out using cannabis and alcohol.”

The victim was aged under 13 when he was attacked by his brother at their family home during the Summer of 2013.

Jon Dee, prosecuting, said: “The complainant described how much it hurt.”

“He later became aware that he was bleeding.”

The boys’ parents were alerted by the noise of the attack but the defendant warned his brother he would be “beaten up if he told what had happened.”

Police were not called at the time of the rape and the older brother was thrown out of the family home, only to return several months later.

The rape allegation was finally disclosed after police were called to an unrelated incident involving the family.

When he was arrested and interviewed the older brother claimed “it was a lie” and that he had been in a different room at the time of the incident.

In mitigation the court was told the older brother had been the victim of physical and sexual abuse for several years himself.

The defendant admitted a charge of raping a boy aged under 13 during the Summer of last year.

He must also register as a sex offender for life.
