Lincs: Baubles helped to raise funds for disabled children and young people from the county

Throughout December shoppers at the homeware store on Tritton Retail Park were asked to make a donation to Action for Children in exchange for a Christmas bauble, on which they could write a festive message or childhood Christmas memory before hanging it on a special HomeSense Christmas tree in the store.

Action for Children’s Disability Lincs Community Activities offers a wide variety of services for disabled users such as out of school activities, and holiday breaks.

Leila Barron, from the service, said: “A huge thank you to all those shoppers in Lincoln who took part in the HomeSense ‘Hang a bauble’ campaign and donated this Christmas.”

“The funds will help us fund more trips out for children and young people with disabilities, and their families, and give them the chance to experience new activities in a safe and fun environment.”

Emilia Carman, head of high value fundraising at Action for Children, said: “We are very grateful to HomeSense and its wonderful customers in Lincoln for their fantastic and continued support.”

“This year’s ‘Hang a bauble’ campaign has been a huge success, raising over £150,000 nationally, allowing us to support even more vulnerable children and young people across the UK.”
