The scheme is open to community groups, social enterprises and sports clubs that have a constitution and bank account, but who need a little help to deliver local services.

Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 are available, and priority will be given to groups run by people directly affected by the issues they are dealing with.

Ideally they should be small, locally-based groups or organisations in areas of need that have a clear understanding of the needs of their community. T

he maximum award is £10,000, although the average grant is likely to be in the region of £3,000.

Comic Relief should contribute at least 30 per cent of the project costs and 25 per cent of the annual allocation needs to be spent on projects which increase access to sport and exercise.

The Lincolnshire Community Foundation will fund community sport activities, furniture projects, projects providing access to benefits advice, equipment, venue hire, community employment projects, project costs, volunteer training costs.

And it would also welcome applications for a range of initiatives including food banks and support for people suffering with dementia.

The closing date for applications is 1st March.

The Foundation has a simple and straightforward application process and welcomes applications from established or new groups.

Full details of the fund can be found on the Grants page at www.lincolnshirecf.co.uk or by contacting Sue Fortune on 01529 305825. If you have an idea but would like to discuss it further give them a call.
