Light aircraft crash at Netherthorpe
Reports say the plane ploughed through a hedge and flipped upside down before coming to rest on a road.

Hide AdThe pair were in a Cessna aeroplane which was attempting to become airborne at Netherthorpe airfield, when it overshot the end of the grass runway.
Both occupants freed themselves and were treated by paramedics.
A spokesman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said they were called to the scene at around 11am on the morning on Sunday 10th June.

Hide Ad“We did not have to cut free or rescue the occupants, and we were on stand-by due to the risk of fire from leaking fuel,” he said.
He added: “The plane was moved from the road by forklift truck and the incident has now been passed on to UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch.”
