The historic event is set to hit Worksop’s Masonic Hall on Sunday, July 10 from 12pm.

Former Emmerdale actress Alicya Eyo will speak at the event and there will be performances from award-winning entertainment acts such as Adele tribute Hometown Glory and singer Chris Lafferty.

In the lead up to the festival, Bridge Street will be adorned with rainbow flags and the LGBT flag will be raised high over Worksop in Civic Square on June 29 at 10.30am.

Crystal Lucas, who organised the event, said she had been “overwhelmed” with the support she had received from Worksop residents who were excited to celebrate diversity in their hometown.

There will be a minute’s silence at the event to remember those killed in the recent terror attack on a gay club in Orlando, Florida.
