Pupils don their coats and wellies and head out into the nearby woods for a series of activity-based lessons.

Marie Parker, one of the teachers at the school said: “Children have grown more confident in stretching their boundaries and taking risks

“They develop friendships by working co-operatively to build dens, fairy houses or construct bridges

“Literacy comes alive as little imaginations are fuelled

by sightings of the Gruffalo deep in the woods or huge trees that have been ripped from the ground by a giant.

“Making friends with the mini beasts is something we love to do but we make sure we respect them and their homes.

“Being in our outside classroom enables our children to understand the natural world and appreciate wildlife and the seasons

“No Tree-mendous Tuesday is ever the same and as we pull on our wellies, the children’s little faces are full of excitement about where our wellies will be taking us today.”
