Jacqueline Wilkinson, who works at Hilltop Working Men’s Club on Doncaster Road, received the accolade in a surprise ceremony on Wednesday, September 23.

She was nominated by her friend and colleague Karen Waite, who told the Guardian: “I have known Jackie for years. She will help absolutely anyone out, whether she likes them or not.

“She recently organised a wedding for a bride who has terminal cancer. The wedding took place on Saturday, September 19 and she went out of her way to make sure that the day was special.

“I also recently mentioned to her that my five-year-old daughter wanted a Harry Potter themed party and she took all the pressure off me by organising it all herself for free.”

“Jackie really does have a heart of gold and nothing is to much ask. I thought surprising her with a Guardan Rose would be a greta way to say thank you.”

Our Guardian Roses are generously donated by Walkers’s House of Flowers, situated in the Priory Shopping Centre.
