Landmark for Bassetlaw Hospital department celebrated

A department within Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) is celebrating a streak of 19 months without a patient developing a severe, hospital acquired, pressure ulcer (HAPU).

The Care Group, known as Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Frailty, contains 14 wards and departments across Bassetlaw, Doncaster and Mexborough and to celebrate this achievement, the teams were visited by their matrons, head of nursing and the Trust’s Skin Integrity Team and were presented with an award.

Moira Hardy, director of nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals at DBTH, said: “I am extremely pleased that we are seeing sustained improvements in patient care.”
