Jo said that consultants on several occasions said they had seen the symptoms her mother had but were not sure how to treat it.

Ovarian Cancer Action told Jo it heard this a lot from patients and their families because little research has been done on the disease, which is why Jo wants to help.

March is also Ovarian Cancer research month.

The cost to entry to the race at £8 per adult and £3 for under 16s.

The race will start at 11am.

All finishers will receive a chocolate bar the the top three male and female finishers will also get a trophy.

Racers and spectators can also enjoy refreshments including soup and roast sandwiches. Parking and toilet facilities will also be available.
