Police were called to Southwell Close, on February 24, where Linsey Ann Perry argued and swore at officers who confiscated her whisky, said Lee Shepherd, prosecuting.

Perry, 36, of Southwell Close, admitted being drunk and disorderly.

Chris Perry, mitigating, said she was “very sorry for what happened” after an altercation with neighbours caused “fractious behaviour.”

He said she became extremely upset and wouldn’t go back into her house, ultimately spending 23 hours in custody.

“The party got out of hand. When the police arrived they found Lee Smedley with his back to a door, kicking backwards,” said Mr Shepherd.

Smedley, 33, of Berry Avenue, admitted causing criminal damage.

Mitigating for Smedley, Mr Perry said: “He allowed his behaviour to descend because he had too much to drink.”

He said that rather than challenge some lads who had upset a party-goer, Smedley kicked the door instead.

They were both given a six month conditional discharge, and ordered to pay costs of £85, with a £20 victim surcharge, by Mansfield magistrates on Wednesday.
