Just the tonic!

FOR all your medicine and prescription needs, look no further than the newly-opened Queensway pharmacy in Gainsborough.

Whether you need some over the counter medicines or order a repeat prescription, pharmacy owner Jav Mehroof and his experienced team are here to help.

The family-run shop opened just a few weeks ago and is already proving popular with customers needing a pharmacy in the Gainsborough Uphills area.

“We did plenty of research before we opened this branch in Gainsborough and there was clearly a real need for a pharmacy out of town,” he said.

“There’s a significant elderly community here and two schools, so we’re really well placed to serve our local community.”

“When we had the bad snow, people couldn’t get up or down Spital Hill or Cox Hill and medication wasn’t getting delivered, so this is just an example of why a pharmacy is so needed here.”

The Queensway pharmacy is open late five nights a week, collects prescriptions from all surgeries in the area and offers a free prescription delivery service.

It also offers free health checks such as blood pressure monitoring and glucose testing as well as a Stop Smoking service.

Jav said it has been really pleasing to see the new pharmacy has helped to bring more customers to the Queensway precinct.

“It’s not just about the pharmacy - we want the whole area to thrive and it’s great to see more footfall round here,” he said.

The new pharmacy has also been welcomed by West Lindsey councillor Mick Tinker and Gainbsorough Town councilor Mark Binns, who say they have long been campaigning for a facility in the Uphills area.

Said Coun Binns: “It’s been a long struggle to get one open here and I’m very glad it has finally opened at long last. We know it will be a great asset to the people of the East Ward.”
