JUDGING is now well underway for our Picture Perfect 2011 photo contest which has seen hundreds of entries from talented snappers in Worksop and beyond.
Worksop and District Photographic Society members are casting their trained eye over the stacks of entries we had from readers wanting to show off their proudest camera work.
Secretary Stuart Dobson said he was delighted to see such an array of talent in the competition.
“We are really impressed with many of the entries. It’s going to be a very difficult decision to make,” he said.
The Guardian was inundated with over 500 pictures for the snap-happy competition which we launched at the beginning of the year.
Readers were asked to enter up to five pictures of their choice in 12 different categories from Sport, Action and Nature to Weather, People and Black and White.
Judges will select a winning picture from each category which will feature in a special Picture Perfect 2012 calendar.
And the overall winner will receive their print in a 32x24 inch canvas frame worth £150 courtesy of the Vector Studio, based in Sutton-in-Ashfield.
Head designer Brian Slaney has extensive experience in graphic design and said he was delighted to be involved in Picture Perfect.
“We specialise in providing a personalised photo onto canvas printing service, making an ideal gift for that special occasion, a‘Giclee’ printing service of your own artwork or image and a superb photo restoration service, ideal for bringing that treasured photograph back to its full glory,” he said.
