Refurbishment work is underway at a pub near Worksop which will create more than 30 new jobs.
The Chequers Inn, on Old Blyth Road, Ranby, which was recently bought by the Pub People Company, is currently closed while work takes place ready for its grand opening at the end of February.
A spokesman for the Pub People Company said: “In addition to the transformation inside the pub, the Chequers will also be introducing a brand new menu and will be the fifth pub reopening under the company’s Fresh and Local brand, which has so far proved very successful in and around the East Midlands.
“The concept is to deliver a range of quality and value meals all freshly prepared on site using the freshest ingredients sourced, wherever possible, from local suppliers. Other Fresh and Local pubs include the Plug and Feathers in Glapwell, the Dukeries Lodge in Edwinstowe, the Marr Lodge in Doncaster, the Marr Lodge in Doncaster and the Three Legged Stool in Worksop.”
The revamp will create more than 30 new jobs and the pub is now looking to recruit a whole new team, including chefs, cleaners and waiting staff, ahead of the opening.
A recruitment day is to take place tomorrow (Wednesday) but anyone unable to attend can find all the latest information and pictures of the refurbishment work at the pub’s Facebook page – www.facebook.com/chequersatranby.
