Jim has run the London Marathon twice before, in 1993 and 1995.

After a gap of 21 years, he is looking forward to his third marathon on April 24.

Since the start of September 2015 he has run more than 700 miles in training (more than 100 hours of running), the equivalent of running from Lands’ End to Inverness, and he is hoping to finish the marathon itself in under four hours.

Jim commented: “The RNLI do sterling work across the UK.

“In 2015 they rescued almost 10,000 people, with more than 8,000 lifeboat launches.

“Please help me to support their work.

“With less than a month now until race day, I’m hoping to achieve my overall fund-raising target of £2,500.

“I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported me.”

You can make a contribution by visiting Jim’s sponsorship page: https://www.justgiving.com/Jim-Carley-London-2016/

Alternatively, you can also make a donation by text direct to his fund-raising page.

All you need to do is type JCAR70 followed by the amount you want to sponsor (e.g. JCAR70 £10) and text this to 70070 (standard text fees will apply).
