Intruder enters house in Uphills area

GAINSBOROUGH residents are being warned to take extra care after an intruder walked into a woman’s house in the Uphills area of Gainsborough.

At around 4.50pm on Monday 23rd January, a woman came out of the bathroom in her Kenmare Crescent house to find a stranger had let himself into the property.

The intruder is said to have looked shocked and fled from the house immediately.

Police say that they are treating the incident as an attempted burglary.

Lincs Police spokesman Dick Holmes said: “This man is in the area looking for opportunities.”

“Please make sure that all of your doors and windows are locked if you engaged in the bathroom or out of property.”

He added: “We would appeal for anyone who may have seen this individual or witnessed anything suspicious to please get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

The intruder is described as a male aged 18-19. of slim build, about 5 ft 3 and wearing jeans with a knitted anorak jacket with fur around the hood.
