Attendance overall for the current academic year at Portland School is 94 per cent.

Last year attendance for the same date was 91.5per cent. This is a 2.5 per cent increase and is due to the fact that the new Principal, Elaine Hamilton, is encouraging all Portland staff to encourage students to aim for a perfect 100 per cent attendance rate.

Elaine would like to thank parents and students for making an excellent start to the term and is also very keen to encourage students not to take holidays during term time.

“It is very important that the students are here to learn and their chances of gaining good exam results are not affected by a poor attendance rate. We have a very effective Rewards system now in place”.

The following rewards are sponsored by local companies who have promised to help the Principal present the awards at the end of term Special Rewards Assembly.
