An award winning country house hotel is pulling out all the stops to support Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice this year.
Colleagues at the Van Dyk Hotel in Clowne have chosen the hospice, which supports children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions, as their charity of the year.
The team is holding two prestigious Club 100 gala balls, planning a team skydive and taking part in the Master Cutler’s Challenge to help raise funds for the North Anston-based hospice.
It has also joined Bluebell Wood’s 365 Business Club and will be sponsoring the hospitality package and taking a table at Bluebell Wood’s 10th birthday ball at Sheffield City Hall, September 29.
The four brave colleagues planning to jump out of a plane at 15,000 feet for the charity are Greg Smith, Michelle Bartle, Elliott Taylor and Leah Cook.
Marc Wildes, managing director, said: “We think it’s important for businesses to give something back, in money or time.
“The Van Dyk chooses to donate in both ways.
“As most of our employees and customers are local, we wanted to back a charity that supports people in our area.
“And as a family run business, we felt compelled to support Bluebell Wood, which unconditionally supports families during such difficult times.
“We’re all completely on-board with Bluebell Wood and the support from our team members has been unprecedented.
Skydives, brownie baking and bike rides are just a few ways we’re all doing whatever we can and we’re very proud to be involved.
“Our Club 100 balls are the highlight of the social events calendar at Van Dyk and are a flagship for everything we represent.
Members of our 100 Club have the chance to enjoy a decadent red carpet evening with first class entertainment, guest speakers and fine dining, and help raise valuable funds for Bluebell Wood.”
David Hall, corporate fundraiser at Bluebell Wood, added: “We’re thrilled at the enthusiasm everyone at Van Dyk is giving for Bluebell Wood.
“They’ve certainly taken their support to the next level and jumped feet first into supporting us.
“We can’t thank them enough.
“Every pound they raise will help to make a real difference to families facing the toughest of times.”
