This new development is part of the Trust’s initiative to increase the uptake of diabetic eye screening for younger people with diabetes. The younger generation is renown nationwide for failing to attend screening appointments and is at highest risk of developing diabetic eye disease, which can damage eye sight or even result in sight loss.

The new interactive system has been designed to allow patients to make convenient appointments using computers, smartphones and tablets whilst offering a wide choice of appointments over three screening sites (DRI, Vermuyden & Montagu).
