Hop to it and help us to raise funds

A WORKSOP cancer charity is asking people to go hopping mad to raise money this Easter.

The Aurora Centre is holding a bunny hop round the canch in Worksop on Easter Sunday.

“The short route is something that the whole family can manage together,” said fundraiser Sally Richardson.

Registration on the the day opens at 10am, with the hoppers getting under starters orders at 10.30am.

“It is just £5 per family of four to take part and there will be free bunny ears for everyone doing the hop,” she added.On the day there will also be a range of Easter themed activities including face painting and Easter crafts. There will be refreshments on offer and the charity shop will also be open to bag a few bargains.

Once up and running the Aurora Wellbeing Centre will be a therapy haven for cancer patients across Bassetlaw.

The charity, which has a similar centre at Montagu Hospital at Mexborough, offers beauty treatments, therapies and that all important feel good factor.

It has developed a four phase plan and needs around £500,000 to get the centre fully up and running.

To register to take part in the bunny hop simply write with your name, address, contact number and cheque for £5 to Sally Richardson, Appeals Office, Bassetlaw Hospital.

If you can’t make the bunny hop but still want to support Aurora there are a number of events going on over the next couple of months.

The charity is holding a party night at the Charnwood in Blyth on 24th February at 7pm. Tickets cost £20 and include a four course meal and disco.
