PCSO Kate Lee of the local Safer Neighbourhood policing team said: “We are making enquiries but would encourage residents to give a bit of thought to security around any outbuildings and their gardens.”

“Invest in good quality locks and alarms for outbuildings and consider security lighting for gardens. You should also security mark any items which are valuable or difficult to replace.”

PCSO Lee added: “Please contact us if you know anything about these incidents or if you see anything suspicious in the area.”

Anyone with information should contact Derbyshire police on 101, the non emergency number, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
