PCSO Kate Lee of the local Safer Neighbourhood policing team has been carrying out enquiries in the local area.

She said: “The flowers have been put up in the area by Hodthorpe Community Association to help make the village a pleasant place to live.”

“It is disappointing that someone has stolen these plants, which were there for the whole community to enjoy and I would ask anyone with information to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact Derbyshire police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
