Two quick-thinking youngsters called 999 about a fire - as adults filmed the blaze and took photos with their phones
Stapleford firefighters took to their Facebook page to publicly thank the children following the incident at Queen Elizabeth Park in the town.
The Facebook message states: "While a number of 'grown-ups' filmed the fire and took photos on their phones, Reece and Jay took it upon themselves to call 999 and ask for the fire service."
The boys also helped firefighters find the right location.
Kevin Tedds, incident commander, said: "The boys' quick-thinking and actions took us straight to the fire.
"The crew acted swiftly getting an extended hose reel to work, limiting the fire spread and damage."
Police also attended the incident.
