Help and advice with finances

Money Box will give people face-to-face advice about financial products and services to help them manage their money.

The sessions will be held on the first and third Friday of every month from 5th July to 20th December at the Park Springs Community Centre in Gainsborough.

Advice and support will be available on general money management and budgeting, as well as affordable and responsible credit, savings facilities, financial skills, dealing with debt, bank accounts and home contents insurance.

Staff will also be on hand to help people make online benefits claims in the IT suite.

Lucy Picksley, resident involvement officer for Acis Group, said: “Money Box is a fantastic new initiative that aims to ensure everyone has access to appropriate advice about financial services and products.”

“We want to enable people to manage their money effectively on a day-to-day basis, plan for the future and deal with financial distress. We have a great range of partners working with us and West Lindsey to deliver this project.”

“Advice given and issues discussed will be done in the strictest confidence,” she added.

Sessions run from 1pm to 3pm, are open to all with free refreshments provided.

Money Box is being delivered with the help of Riverside Training, Lincolnshire Credit Union, Sills and Betteridge Solicitors, Citizens Advice Bureau and Asra Housing Group. Additional funding has also been provided by Galatia.
