Health board looks for new director

The health trust that runs Bassetlaw Hospital is looking for a new non-executive director to join its board.

Doncatser and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the first 10 NHS trusts in England to achieve foundation trust status.

Its board of directors has executive members, who are full-time employees and non-executive members who provide external scrutiny and expertise.

Ideally, the successful candidate will be a qualified healthcare professional with recent clinical experience in a senior role. They will also need to display a strong commitment to NHS values, excellent communication skills and the ability to think strategically and provide independent advice, challenge and support to board colleagues.

The current vacancy is for a fixed term of up to three years and will involve working around five days a month working for the Trust, including attending board meetings and taking part in committees. The salary is £12,000 a year.
