Headless dog found in canal

WALKERS along the Chesterfield Canal were horrified to find the remains of a dog in the water on Thursday afternoon.

The dog, believed to be a white Staffordshire Terrier, was found headless in the canal close to the Lock Keepers pub.

The RSPCA said it was a ‘very disturbing’ discovery and has launched an investigation into the case.
