Harworth: Store is top of the shop for fund-raising

Staff at the Co-operative food store in Harworth are celebrating coming top of the charts for their fund-raising feats after raising more than £2,300 through a range of events and collections throughout the year for Carers Trust.

When all the cash for the area was counted, the Scrooby Road store had raised the most.

The money will allow Carers Trust to provide vital support and services for the estimated 500,000 14-25 year-olds in the UK who care for a family member or friend who are ill, frail, disabled or have mental health or addiction problems.

Mark Sanderson, operations manager for Co-op in the area, said: “The teams in my area have done a fantastic job, putting the fun into fund-raising for this worthy cause.

“However, special thanks go to the team at Harworth, who have shown commitment and dedication to come out on top in our local charts.”
