Barton Willmore, the UK’s largest independent integrated planning and design consultancy, has put forward the plans for a 2.5m sqft employment park on land to the south of Harworth and Bircotes.
Harworth South Ltd is funding the £200m scheme, which could provide an estimated £500m boost to the local economy. A new road will link Bawtry Road and Blyth Road and the scheme will provide starter units for small businesses as well as a range of larger space buildings for regional and national occupiers.
Dan Mitchell, partner at Barton Willmore, said: “Harworth is an exciting place of opportunity and to do business, with passionate local people who want the town to be successful.”
Blueprints for the employment park also include natural green space and a gateway hub with a shop, café, crèche, public house and hotel which will be a focal point for the scheme.
Max Howard, director at Harworth South Limited, said: “We have evolved our proposals by working closely with Bassetlaw District Council and Harworth Town Council. The scheme is important for Harworth and for Bassetlaw and will provide much needed new jobs. The site is ideally situated adjacent to the A1(M).”
