Harworth: Driving ban for woman who fled crash scene
A woman who fled the scene of an accident she was involved in while over the drink-drive limit, has been banned from driving for 16 months.
Worksop Magistrates’ Court heard that Sharon Colbeck, 55, of Sandymount, Harwworth, had drunk a bottle-and-a-half of wine the night before and was driving down the middle of the road to avoid speed humps when the accident occured.
Instead of exchanging details, Miss Colbeck drove off, and initially denied she had been in a crash when police called at her house, before later admitting her involvement in the accident.
Defending, Mr Jamie Ratcliffe said: “She was upset and panicked.”
Miss Colbeck was also fined £235, plus £85 costs and a £24 victim surcharge.
