Harley Gallery scoop Best Shopping award in the Hudson Heritage Awards

An award winning Worksop gallery have picked up another trophy after entering the Hudson Heritage '˜Best Shopping' category .

The Harley Gallery, based on the Welbeck estate, were presented the prestigious award by architectural historian, Dan Cruickshank, in London on Tuesday, March 1, after being recognised for their being commended for its “contemporary style but old fashioned approach.”

The Harley shop features a range of gifts, home wares, jewellery made by emerging artists from the Welbeck estate as well as internationally recognised artists.

Lisa Gee, Gallery director, said: “We are delighted to have won a 2016 Hudson’s Heritage Award.”

The Harley Gallery, which opened in 1994, is highly regarded for it’s national reputation for excellence and innovation.

As well as the shop and café, studio space is provided for up to 25 artists and craftspeople to work and display what they have created.

Lisa added: “We are delighted to have the acknowledgement and recognition that the Harley Gallery is among the elite of heritage attractions in the UK.”
