Guildhall gives a guiding hand...

WEST Lindsey District Council has pledged its support toward helping Gainsborough Town Council make further savings and improvements.

Rachel North, the authority’s director of communities and localism, told the Standard it was part of its commitment to smaller councils across the district.

West Lindsey District Council is committed to support all town and parish councils across the district to be the best they can be,” said Ms North.

“If we can help them to achieve this, that is a good result for everyone.

“In recent months we have been advising Gainsborough Town Council on a number of issues, including their current financial position to help them explore a way forward.”

“We understand from talking to the council at the extraordinary meeting on 10th July, they have resolved to undertake in depth reviews of key areas of spend, where it is considered there is potential for efficiencies to be made.”

“This includes areas such as staffing, services, local events and much more to make sure the council is delivering its vision for the people of Gainsborough.”

“We will continue to support the council and help them explore ways to make further savings.”
