GUEST COLUMN: Egg-stra events on offer this Easter, by Coun John Knight

With Easter approaching, there are some exciting events and activities taking place in Nottinghamshire County Council's country parks and libraries.

Among the highlights are some arts and crafts events in libraries and Easter egg trails at both Rufford Abbey and Sherwood Forest country parks.

With the Easter weekend coming up from March 25 starting with Good Friday, these activities will provide some ideas for your leisure time.

Some forthcoming events include:

Rufford Abbey Country Park

Easter Egg Hunt: Friday March 25 - Sunday April 17, 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Hunt for the Easter bunny’s hidden Easter eggs around the gardens. Find them including the secret golden egg and claim your chocolatey reward. £1 to take part. No need to book.

Sherwood Forest Country Park Easter Trail: Saturday March 26 - Sunday April 17, 11am to 3p, Sherwood Forest Country Park.  Follow this self-guided trail around the Visitor Centre and woodland to discover lots of fascinating facts about Sherwood Forest and Robin Hood. Complete all the clues and claim your reward (subject to availability). £1 per trail leaflet. 

Forest Town Library, Easter Wreath Craft for Adults: Monday March 21, 10am to 12 noon, free event. Decorate your home for spring and make a beautiful Easter wreath. Refreshments provided. Advance booking is essential, through contacting the library.

Huthwaite Library, Easter coffee morning: Monday March 21, 10.30am to 12 noon, free event. Share a cuppa and maybe some Easter cake with friends old and new.

Sutton-in-Ashfield Library, Meet the Author Rosie Goodwin: Thursday March 24, 2pm to 3pm, free event. Bestselling author Rosie Goodwin will be visiting Sutton-in-Ashfield Library to talk about her work including her new book Home Front Girls.

Sutton-in-Ashfield Library, Move with Peppa: Saturday March 26, 11.45am to 12.30pm, free event. Sutton library will be joined by Lammas Leisure Centre’s team for a one off Move with Peppa session, this includes singing and dancing, with Peppa, puddle jumping, Danny dog dodging and much more. This activity is suitable for 2-4 year olds and there is no booking required.
