
It congratulated the community for opposing development of the greenbelt ‘so vigorously’, leading lots to be saved.
But it said there was no time for complacency.
“Whilst a good deal of the greenbelt originally identified in the Core Strategy of 2011 is not included in the current consultation document, the greenbelt is still under threat,” said a spokesman.
The current plan releases 1.5 per cent of Rotherham’s total greenbelt for housing or safeguarded land which is not to be built on before 2028.
