Dinnington and Anston action group Save Our Greenbelt has reacted to Rotherham’s draft local plan.
It congratulated the community for opposing development of the greenbelt ‘so vigorously’, leading lots to be saved.
But it said there was no time for complacency.
“Whilst a good deal of the greenbelt originally identified in the Core Strategy of 2011 is not included in the current consultation document, the greenbelt is still under threat,” said a spokesman.
The current plan releases 1.5 per cent of Rotherham’s total greenbelt for housing or safeguarded land which is not to be built on before 2028.
