Gone fishin’ for Aurora

GENEROSITY was on the line as kind members of the Sports and Social Fishing Club at Bassetlaw Hospital raised £295 for the Aurora Well-being Centre on Memorial Avenue in Worksop.

Last year, Colin Marks and his troupe went along to Scrooby Top fisheries to enjoy a day’s fishing whilst raising much-needed cash for the Worksop Guardian’s chosen charity at the same time.

Aurora fundraiser Sally Richardson said: “The hospital staff have always been great supporters of appeals and it’s great to see that they have chosen to support us.”

Work starts in April to turn the old library building into a cancer well-being centre for patients and their families.
